Competition for the Grand museum in Egypt.
The site was located at the edge of the modern Cairo, close to the famouse Pyramids.
The design tries to create a building that is suttle in terms of height but also creates a unique experience to the visitor.
The roof was shaped in a way that resembles sand dunes from a distace while the main staircase leads the visitor to a dome space that rotates from day to night framing views of the stars and the ancient pyramids in the distance.
Symmetry was of great importance allowing easy acess to all the exhibition spaces while the whole structure resembles an ancient egyptian worship symbol.
